The Radiological Society of New Jersey's Gold Medal, its highest honor, is awarded to New Jersey radiologists in recognition of outstanding lifetime achievement and service to the RSNJ.

The criteria for awarding the RSNJ Gold Medal are:
• Member of the RSNJ for at least 20 years, and
• Outstanding service to the RSNJ, and
• Outstanding service to Radiology and the Radiological Sciences, and
• Outstanding contributions to radiological organizations and/or the public.

The Radiological Society of New Jersey's Distinguished Service Award, is awarded to New Jersey radiologists who meet most but not all of the Gold Medal Criteria and whose lifetime career has been particularly distinguished by at least 20 years of service in more than one of the following areas:
• Radiological Society of New Jersey, including participation on the Executive Committee and service as the society’s president,
• Organized radiology, including the American College of Radiology, the Radiological Society of North America, the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging,
• Organized medicine, including the American Medical Association and the Medical Society of New Jersey,
• Numerous scientific publication in the disciplines of diagnostic imaging, interventional radiology, nuclear medicine, and/or radiation oncology,
• Medical education teaching radiology to medical students, radiology residents and/or residents of various medical specialties,
• Active involvement in hospital committees and medical staff leadership positions,
• Active involvement on hospital staff in community outreach service,
• Service to underserved populations, including participation on national or international missions to underserved communities in the United States or abroad,
• Political service to New Jersey citizens through participation as an elected or appointed official or representative to the New Jersey State or Federal government.

The Gold Medal Committee/ Distinguished Service Award, ably chaired by Mark Bramwit, MD, meets on an as needed basis and nominates appropriate candidates to the RSNJ Executive Committee for consideration and approval. .
